June is Men’s Health Awareness Month. During this month, we encourage all men to heighten awareness of andropause and all men’s health issues.
Your Basic Exam costs just $35 (+ lab fees) and includes:
Risk Survey
Blood Pressure
Height and Weight
Cholesterol profile
Blood work for CBC/Chemscreen, lipid profile, thyroid, PSA and Testosterone
Physician phone counseling
If we find any abnormalities, we will recommend a formal evaluation by a physician, who may recommend further testing, treatments, or prescriptions.
More Information About Andropause
Andropause, the male equivalent of menopause in women, is related to the reduction of the production of testosterone. There is debate among doctors about whether the elements of andropause indicate a disorder or simply a normal condition of aging, and the term andropause is not officially recognized as a medical classification by the World Health Organization; however, the term has been gaining acceptance, and there is much documentation of the decline in testosterone as men age.
